What Is It? – entitled The Alien / Der Außerirdischer

“What Is It” was intended to be entitled The Alien / Der Außerirdischer. It  is a work, which took me a long time to reach finality, and before I could accept it as being finished. I had reworked it many times, before reaching that stage.

It is a multi media piece of what I term “the surrealism of realism”.

As said, my original intent was to entitle the work “Ausserirdisch / Alien” (which it is not). Upon reflection, I believe it is well entitled with “What Is It”, because the answer to that question remains open. The work is, in some small way, a sort of Schroedinger’s cat, because each answer, which will depend largely upon the subjective fantasies of the viewer, is probably correct.
